First in my hunt for the best slice in town I chose to visit Este Pizzeria at their location in Sugar House. Este pizza has been on my pizza hit list for a while. So needless to say this stop was a long time coming and it did not let me down.
The first thing I noticed upon walking into Este Pizzeria were the sweet sweet smells of delicious pizza. The atmosphere at Este pizza is awesome especially if you were into the alternative music scene circa 2005 (which I was). Not only do they have a pinball machine but they also play an awesome selection of music (anyone remember Dance Dance by Panic at the Disco?!). Talk about nostalgia because this place is full of it. Takes me back to the days of concerts, good music and warped tour.
Aside from it’s awesome atmosphere Este has some of the best pizza I’ve found in Utah so far. We ordered off of the specialty pizza menu and settled on the Italian flag pizza. The Italian flag pizza is topped with pizza sauce, pesto, garlic, oregano, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese. Guys, the pizza sauce….sooooooo gooooooooood! Not only is the flavor combo on point but the crust is also fantastic. If you like thin, New York style crust then you’ll definitely appreciate this pie.
We also ordered some boneless wings from the appetizer menu because pizza and wings duhh. Honey Sriracha BBQ wings and they were delish! A great spicy and sweet combo and perfect for you sriracha lovers out there. They also had the perfect amount of sauce on them and none of that skimpy on the sauce business.
Bottom of the line if you’re in the neighborhood definitely stop by and get a pie (heh heh food rhyme) at Este Pizza.
