Have you ever gotten a flier for a restaurant on your door? This is the part of the story where you think I’m crazy but listen just trust me. I love getting food fliers because it is how I’ve found some of my all time favorite restaurants. This is how I found Mangia and some of the most delicious New York style pizza in Utah.
Mangia opened up in Draper, UT a few months ago back in June. They also have locations in Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Mangia prides themselves on making food with local, fresh, and real ingredients. You can definitely tell that the ingredients they use are quality by the flavor and taste of the food.
I went for lunch so I could try out one of their awesome and totally affordable lunch specials. I ordered the pizza of the week special. The specialty pizza was the Hanover Street….just my luck! The Hanover Street features traditional sauce, pepperoni, sausage, and mozzarella on top of one delicious New York style pizza crust. What I enjoyed the most about this pizza was the crust. Mangia nailed the New York style pizza crust. The crust is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Let me tell you folks, this is not an easy feat!
We also got a pepperoni and cheese calzone. The calzone was delicious! I mean look at that mozzarella! Also the calzones are massive! Travis ordered it thinking it was a one person deal, but no way. It was so big that we got to take half of it home! And in case you’re wondering, yes, it does reheat well!
Moving on to the mac and cheese we ordered for the little. The mac and cheese was sooooooooo delicious! Mangias mac and cheese is made with pene pasta, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, and is topped with fresh basil. This is also a dish for more than one. The serving sizes at Mangia are huuuge. Go prepared to share your food or take some home!
